I convert buses professionally and am in the process of converting our second personal bus, being a Volvo mid mount B10 turbo diesel 4 speed auto. As a designer and tradesman majoring on (but not limited to) timber work, I am enthused by the idea of getting the balance of the form and the function right (does it look good and work well?), whilst keeping within an affordable budget.
I have a lot of ideas about the various systems required by people with differing lifestyle choices but have been hard pressed to find the type of specific assistance offered through the Hobohome website.

The Electrics

The old girl is now essentially done and on the road. We ended up with 4 24v x 250 watt solar panels pumping around 41 amps into 4 x 6 volt 325 amp hour batteries set up in series. The system works so well I haven't had to charge with mains or generator at all on recent trips despite fridge/freezer, lights and pumps running full time or on a regular basis. Thanks Gavin for all the guidance and advice.

About Guy Slingerland

Guy Slingerland - Working Hard at Home

Passionately involved in the world of Design and construction. Bus conversions are a favourite outlet for this. Have lived in all corners of our amazing country and have travelled around it in many ways since the 70's including hitchhiking and sailing. I finally travelled around the country again in 2006 in our 7 metre Hino which I went to considerable lengths to convert. There are now 3 of us plus a dog, so 11 metres of room became the go.
