"Miss Lizzy"

A 42' meter Bus

"Miss Lizzy" is owned by Christopher & Miss Lizzy from Curra, Queensland..

About Miss Lizzy

We have just picked up a really nicely fitted out 1979 Leyland bus. This one's running a Detroit diesel motor linked to an Alison 5 speed auto box. It had its' original fitout in 2004. it has the main bedroom with queen bed at the back, together with en suit shower and toilet. Opposite the bathroom there's some hanging space and shelving in two very big cupboards. The hot water system and built in washing machine is also opposite the bathroom. This area opens out to a kitchen featuring a 4 burner stove with oven, dinning table with seating for four, a very comfy couch and a two a door frdge/freezer. Sound comes from blutooth sound system, 6 built in speakers and two small freestanding sherwood speakers. We also have a powerful domestic split air conditioning system, reverse cycle air conditioner We carry 500 litres diesel, 600 litres of fresh water, a 500 litre gray water tank. and our 5 KVA generator is connected to an on board leaded petrol tank (150ltrs).

The Electrics

We run 4 solar panels and 1200 watt inverter, a bank of deep cycle batteries, a 5 ka generator, 240 volt, 24 volt and 12 volt power available on tap, catering for any contingency. We can free camp almost indefinitely with the system we're running. And no bloody power bills.......

About Christopher & Miss Lizzy

Christopher & Miss Lizzy - Full Time Traveller

Howdy. We are Christopher, a retired broadcaster and journalist and Miss Lizzy (retired) former pre school principal. We have both managed to retire a little early and can't wait to get on the road in our big green & white bus. We travel with our pooch, ('Max' the wonder dog) and although it's sometimes restrictive having a dog on board, we wouldn't have it any other way. 'Max' is as important as we are in our family. He's just beautiful.......
