Motorhome Tour - Improvements and Alterations to the Motorhome
This is an incomplete list of the changes and alterations we have made to Hobohome
(the motorhome)- most
of this was done not because there was anything wrong with the motorhome - but to fit
our lifestyle or to make the motorhome more comfortable for the two of us (it was
set-up for a family of 4 when we bought it).
- Remote control for the winch
- Added a aluminium cover to the wear zone in the Moke-bay
- Painted the Moke-bay
- Added two large storage shelves to the Moke-bay
- Changed the method of jacking the Moke to raise and lower the suspension
- Fitted a digital ammeter to show charge and discharge net current
- Added packing under the Moke front wheels to allow the ramps to easily slide in and out
- Added spring catches to cupboards in bedroom
- Fitted rear reversing camera
- Fitted foot switch for exhaust break
- New door lock and additional lock on bi-fold door
- Replaced stereo and added sub
- Extended video system to allow DVD's to be played
- Alarm system fitted
- Added new lighting over bench
- Remove extra passenger seats
- Remove existing table and bench unit
- Built new dinning set
- Removed bunk beds and fit new storage unit and bench unit
- Built new wrap-around lounge
- Built new storage units into the floor in the bedroom
- Built shelves in outside storage bins
- Fitted cat door
- Added additional shunt to obtain correct readings from ammeter.
- Added flu to roof to aspirate the gas fridge (didn't help)
- Added baffle to back of fridge as per recommendations(didn't help)
- Altered the alternator regulator to increase depth of charge
- Replaced the gas fridge with a compressor type (best thing ever!)
- Added 4 new solar panels
- New floor covering throughout motorhome
- Sorted out the winch power system
- 24v based power supply for computer systems
- Added satellite TV system
- Sound-proofed engine bay
- Added airbag assisted suspension to the rear
- Replaced the drivers seat
- Replaced the Bedford 466 engine with an Izusu
- Re-cover the dashboard
- Built turntable for the sat dish
- Built a portable outside light
- Replaced TV with TFT screen
- Fitted rev-counter
- Added new rear-view camera and monitor
- New LCD screens for the bedroom
- New Stove
- Added side view camera
- Re-line the ceiling
- Replaced the BP solar regulator with a PL40
- Added Xantrex battery monitor
- Replaced the rear springs and reset the front ones
- Added power steering
- Replaced the window tinting
- Altered the bedroom escape hatch to allow better air flow in warm weather
- Added rain water collection system
